SAN FRANCISCO
18th January 2011
I had been surrounded by snow for two months. It was the first time I had ever seen it. Little white things falling from the sky, baffling. Everywhere I went the locals seemed to hate it. Airports were closing, roads were cut or slow, people were staying home from work. Life carried on for me though, as I marvelled at this thing called snow. I loved it. So much. I spent as much time in it as I could. Galavanting around the United Kingdom, wandering through Germany and Austria and then exploring New York City. Two months of snow.
But then everything changed.
I flew to Los Angeles, and when I stepped off the plane it felt so different. It felt warm and relaxed. People wearing shorts and shirts. Sunshine and sixteen degrees. I got a car and just started driving north, destination unknown. This song was written about the drive up the coast of California, as it happened. It was without a doubt one of the best adventures of my life.
This special acoustic version features my very good friend, Natsuki from Japan and was recorded in Gumbo Studios in Yokohama on a recent trip there. I hope you enjoy!
You can find the song HERE :)
